A Signature Performance for the 48th Session
of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee
주역의 22번째 괘에서 착안한 <산화비>는 ‘본질 위의 단정한 꾸밈’을 뜻한다. 피리정악 및 대취타, 태평무, 서도소리, 종묘제례악 등 국가무형유산의 본질적 미학을 현대적 감각으로 재해석하여 무형유산이 가진 본연의 빛남을 선사한다. 공연은 숨·소리·선·빛·판·예·화합의 7개 주제로 구성된다. 전통 소리와 정교한 갓춤, 한국적 미학이 돋보이는 금박장과 태평무, 역동적인 사자놀음과 장엄한 일무까지 무형유산의 예술적 확장을 폭넓게 보여준다. 전 출연진과 관객이 함께하는 아리랑 무대를 통해 시대의 평화와 안녕을 기원하며 대미를 장식한다.
Inspired by the 22nd hexagram of the I Ching, Sanhwabi represents ‘Refined beauty resting upon true essence.’ It elegantly reinterprets Korea’s National Intangible Heritage (including Piri Jeongak, Daechwita, Taepyeongmu, Seodo Sori, and Jongmyo Jeryeak) with a contemporary touch to unveil its inherent brilliance. The performance consists of seven themes: Breath, Sound, Line, Light, Pan(Communal Space), Rite, and Harmony. Showcasing traditional vocals, the exquisite Gat dance, the aesthetics of Geumbakjang, the dynamic lion mask dance, and the majestic Ilmu, it beautifully demonstrates the artistic expansion of our heritage. The finale brings the cast and audience together through Arirang, sharing a heartfelt wish for peace and well-being.
