(사)국가무형유산 진도다시래기보존회는 출상 전날 밤 상주를 위로하던 진도의 고유한 상장례 문화와 예술성을 올곧게 전승하는 전문 단체이다. 단순한 원형 보존에 머물지 않고, 강릉단오제, 안성바우덕이축제 등 전국 각지의 주요 축제와 공개행사 무대에 오르며 현대 관객과 활발히 호흡하고 있다. 슬픔을 삶의 긍정적인 에너지로 극복해 낸 선조들의 지혜를 바탕으로 세대 간의 화합을 이끌며, 대한민국 전통 연희의 대중화와 세계화에 앞장서는 살아있는 무형유산 공동체로 나아가고 있다.
Jindo Dasiraegi Preservation Association for National Intangible Cultural Heritage is a professional organization dedicated to faithfully transmitting the unique funeral ritual culture and artistry of Jindo, which traditionally comforted the grieving family on the night before the funeral procession. Moving beyond the simple preservation of its original form, the association actively engages with modern audiences by performing at major festivals and public events nationwide, such as the Gangneung Danoje Festival and the Anseong Baudeogi Festival. Grounded in the wisdom of ancestors who overcame sorrow through the positive energy of life, it fosters intergenerational harmony and leads the popularization and globalization of Korean traditional performing arts, advancing as a living intangible heritage community.

진도다시래기: 죽음의 슬픔을 해학으로 승화하다
이번 쇼케이스는 상주의 슬픔을 달래는 진도 특유의 민속극 '진도다시래기'의 정수를 20분간 압축하여 선보이는 무대이다. 가상제, 거사, 사당, 중 등이 등장해 재담과 춤을 주고받는 만담 형식으로 진행되며, 죽음의 무거운 분위기를 익살스러운 웃음으로 승화시킨다. 특히 극의 백미인 <거사, 사당 놀이>와 연희자들의 역동적인 북놀이, 그리고 진도의 애절하면서도 흥겨운 소리가 어우러지는 것이 관람 포인트이다. 슬픔이 생명의 환희로 전환되는 벅찬 감동을 현장에서 직접 경험할 수 있다.
Jindo Dasiraegi: Sublimating the Sorrow of Death into Humor
This 20-minute showcase captures the essence of Jindo Dasiraegi, a unique folk play that comforts grieving families. Through witty dialogue and dynamic dances by characters like Gasangje (Fake Mourner), Geosa, Sadang, and Jung (Monk), the heavy atmosphere of death is sublimated into laughter.
The performance peaks with the rich harmony of Geosa Sadang Nori, dynamic Buknori (drum play), and Jindo’s sorrowful yet festive melodies, offering audiences a profound catharsis as deep sorrow transforms into the joy of life.
