부산 기장 오구굿은 죽은 사람의 혼을 천도하는 위령마당굿(천도제)으로 집안굿, 방안굿 형태를 지니고 있으며, 부정굿부터 시석까지 다양한 거리로 구성되어 있다. 염불이나 고삼, 자삼, 가락 등 불교적인 내용과 색채가 짙게 혼융되어 있어 불교의 재(齋) 양식과도 비교 가능한 독특함을 띄고 있으며, 한국인 특유의 사생관을 보여 주고 있다.
또한 해원과 축원의 사설풀이와 함께 노래, 춤, 각양의 조형 형상으로 살풀이의 극점인 신명을 불러일으켜 죽음을 맞이하고 망자를 보내는 한국 샤머니즘 특유의 생명 사상과 가무 정신을 지니고 있어 민족적 무의식과 미의식의 원류를 살펴볼 수 있는 귀중한 문화예술유산이자 한국문화의 보편성과 함께 지역 단위의 독특한 특징을 지니는 중요한 전통문화로 무형유산 지정의 충분한 가치가 있다.
무의 및 무가 보유자 김동언은 확실한 전승 계보를 가지고 있으며, 오구굿 의식 절차, 내용, 양식에 관해 두루 능통할 뿐 아니라, 오구굿 특유의 사설 풀이에 타의 추종을 불허하는 빼어난 기예를 갖추고 있으며, 악사 및 지화 제작 보유자 김동렬은 음악연주와 장단에서 김동언과 짝을 이루고 있으며, 지화, 용선, 무구 등의 제작에 두루 능통하여 모두 보유자로서 충분한 자격을 갖추고 있다.
Busan Gijang Ogugut is a consolatory Madang-gut (Cheondo-jae) performed to guide the soul of the deceased to the afterlife, taking the form of a Jiban-gut (household ritual) and Bangan-gut (indoor ritual), and consisting of various Geori (ritual segments) ranging from Bujeong-gut to Siseok. It is deeply integrated with Buddhist content and colors, such as Yeombul (Buddhist chants), Gosam, Jasam, and Garak (rhythmic patterns), presenting a unique quality that can be compared with the style of Buddhist Jae (rituals), and it reflects the distinctive view of life and death unique to the Korean people.Additionally, along with the Saseolpuri (narrative recitations) of Haewon (resolving resentment) and Chugwon (offering prayers), it evokes Shinmyeong (exhilaration)—the pinnacle of Salpuri—through songs, dances, and various formative shapes. It embodies the unique life philosophy and dance-and-music spirit of Korean shamanism in facing death and sending off the deceased, making it a valuable cultural and artistic heritage that allows for the examination of the origin of the national unconscious and aesthetic consciousness. Furthermore, as an important traditional culture that possesses both the universality of Korean culture and distinct regional characteristics, it holds sufficient value for designation as an intangible cultural heritage.Kim Dong-eon, the holder of Mueui (shamanic rituals) and Muga (shamanic songs), possesses a clear lineage of transmission. Not only is he thoroughly well-versed in the procedures, content, and style of Ogugut rituals, but he also commands unrivaled, outstanding artistry in the unique Saseolpuri of Ogugut. Kim Dong-ryeol, the holder of musical accompaniment and Jihwa (paper flower) making, pairs with Kim Dong-eon in musical performance and Jangdan (rhythmic patterns). He is also highly proficient in crafting Jihwa, Yongseon (dragon boats), and Mugu (shamanic implements). Therefore, both individuals are fully qualified as holders.

초망자굿
초망자굿은 오구굿에서 가장 중요한 거리 중 하나로 망자를 불러 가족과 작별을 나누는 굿이다. 모든 것을 연극적으로 보여 줄 따름이지만 죽음과 삶이 만나는 굿의 성격이 달라지는 것은 아니다. 무녀는 넋두리가 끝나 어느 정도 한풀이가 되었다고 생각하면 넋의 집이라고 할 수 있는 신태집을 들고 춤을 춘다.
Chomangja Gut
Chomangja-gut is one of the most important rites in Ogu-gut, where the deceased is called and the family says their goodbyes. It's all shown theatrically, but that doesn't change the nature of the gut, where life and death meet. When the shaman thinks the soul's lament has ended and some of the pent-up feelings have been released, she dances holding the shintae house, which can be thought of as the home of the soul.
