단체 소개 ｜ TRUOPE

고성농요는 조상들이 농경작업을 하면서 부르는 노래로 서민생활을 대표하는 음악이다. 작업중에 불려진 노래인 까닭에 내용이 소박하고 기교를 부리지 않았으나 예술성을 잊지 않고 있다. 특징적인 것은 가락이나 가사가 구성지면서도 호쾌하고 후렴구가 잘 발달되어 있으며, 남녀 교환창과 선후창의 조화가 잘 이루어져 타 지역과 구별된다. 가사속에 내재된 내용은 애정,노동,휴식,식욕,풍년,힘찬 농부,충효 등을 담고 있어 이를 통해 농민의 생활감정과 민족정서를 잘 반영하고 있음을 볼 수 있다. 

Goseong Nongyo is a definitive musical reflection of the daily lives of ordinary Korean folk, traditionally sung during agricultural labor. Because these songs were performed while working, their lyrics are simple and unembellished, yet they retain distinctive artistic value. One of its distinctive features is its rich and powerful melodies and lyrics, along with well-developed refrains. In addition, the harmony between male and female call-and-response singing, as well as lead-and-chorus singing, clearly distinguishes it from similar traditions in other regions. The lyrics contain themes such as love, labor, rest, appetite, abundant harvests, vigorous farmers, loyalty, and filial piety. Through these themes, it reflects the emotional lives of farmers and the national sentiment.

• Since 1972, conducted the collection and documentation of disappearing farming and folk songs from the Goseong region (Kim Seok-myeong). 
• Aug. 9, 1977 — Establishment of the Goseong Nongyo Preservation Association. 
• Sept. 26, 1977 — Held the 1st Goseong Nongyo field presentation performance. 
• May 2, 1979 — Designated as Gyeongsangnam-do Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 4. 
• Dec. 1, 1985 — Designated as National Important Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 84-1. 
• Feb. 28, 2007 — Designated as a professional traditional Korean music performance organization by Gyeongsangnam-do. 
• From 1977 to the present — Held 40 regular performances and 40 special
• Participated in numerous invited performances and special performances both domestically and internationally. 

공연 소개 ｜ Performance Introduction

삶의노래 고성농요 

고성 지역의 국가무형유산인 ‘고성농요’를 바탕으로, 물레소리·모심기·칭칭이 등을 통해 전통 농경문화를 무대화한 작품이다. ‘삶의 노래’를 주제로 선조들의 노동과 공동체 정신을 생생하게 표현하며, 전통의 원형을 유지하면서도 현대적 감각으로 재구성하였다. 이를 통해 관객들에게 우리 전통 농요의 가치와 흥을 전달하고, 무형유산의 의미를 되새기는 데 목적이 있다. 

Songs of Life Goseong Nongyo 

Based on Goseong Nongyo, a National Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Goseong region, this performance brings traditional agricultural culture to the stage through elements such as Mullesori, Mosingi, and Chingchingi. Under the theme of “Songs of Life,” it vividly portrays the labor of ancestors and the spirit of community while reinterpreting tradition through a contemporary sensibility without losing its original form. The purpose of this performance is to convey the value and heung (joyful energy) of Korea's traditional Nongyo to the audience, and to reflect on the meaning of intangible cultural heritage.
